Katy Perry breaks Lady Gaga’s record
Lady Gaga has surely got a new competition. After edging past Lady Gaga in MTV Video Awards nominations, Katy Perry has broken another record set by Gaga as well, thanks to her latest smash hit “Last Friday Night.” With this song, the 5th song from the album “Teenage Dream” has find a place at the top position of Billboard’s Pop Songs airplay rankings. Earlier, Lady Gaga and Justin Timberlake had a record of having 4 singles at the top from an album.
Katy Perry does not need to stop here though. She has a unique opportunity to touch the pop legend Michael Jackson as the latter had a record of having 5 singles from his 1987 album “Bad” at the top of Billboard’s historic Hot 100.
Currently, at the top of the list is LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem” which is enjoying its 5th straight week there. However, according to music analysts, next week “Last Friday Night” can topple “Party Rock Anthem and if that happens, Katy Perry will surely touch a new height.

Katy Perry was just a random lucky 101 person that got backed by professional people. The only one single thing she contributes to her music (a.k.a. her voice) thousands can do better. Hell, half the contestants on American Idol sound just as good.

Jessica says that lady gaga does too much AirPrint and Katy perry doesn’t use it. Katy may not use auto tune but they digitally enhance her voice so it doesn’t sound flat and terrible like it does when she sings live, and even when it’s enhanced it still sounds average,lady gaga actually has a very good voice and is great at playing paino, so she deserves it because she has been playing in clubs and working her way up since she was 10, Katy perry just got lucky and has no real talent.

I am a lil monster, and dont really care for katy perry cause she cant sing live and needs help writing her own music (but she can sing the high notes). HOWEVER,,,,,, i have to admit monsters we cannot take this from her. We never bashed on females like britney, beyonce, and madonna who all do the same as katy. Gaga is on her own level, and i am glad katy has been able to have this many hits off an album, which was previously held by a man. im glad women are taking music to a new level, and making history. Gaga still has a lot of time to make history with born this way. remember nine singles off this album. i give it up to katy! she can have her hits. LADY GAGA IS A MOVEMENT! and regardless what any artist does at this point gaga is still the QUEEN of pop and the NUMBER ONE ARTIST IN THE WORLD!!!!!! I think both girls have talent, but Lady Gaga has more since she is able to write her own songs and she has theatrical experience, which she brings upon into her live shows.
You people are idiots. Katy Perry does not write her own songs, is is credited as “co-writer”. But every singer gets those credits as a formality no matter how little they contribute. If you do the research you will find that Katy and her record label pays others for the copyrights each and every song on Teenage Dream. The girl contributed nothing beyond her voice.

Fernando Garibay even said it himself in a CNN interview that she does it all herself and that she is just generous and gives writing credit to her producers, who are usually her friends. Katy Perry works with Dr. Luke and Max Martin who are known to be amazing hit makers. And just as proof Katy Perry’s fourth single from One Of the Boys, Thinking Of You, didn’t make it to the top 10 cause it sucked. By herself Katy Perry is a mediocre talent at best while on the other hand Gaga is a one woman show. Gaga takes risks with her music and sound. These other skanks play it safe. And again I’ll say it all the hits couldn’t give you talent and wont compensate for your lack of it Katy Perry. Haha.
Oh and just to put it in perspective Gaga has already outsold Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream album both in the US and worldwide. Born This Way: US: 1.7 million and Worldwide: 3.8 million, Teenage Dream: US: 1.6 million and Worldwide: 2.7 million. But remember Born This Way has barely been out for two months while Teenage Dream is close to 1.5 years old. So that just goes to show you how sad that is, 5 #1′s off one album and can’t sell. Born This Way only has one #1 so far and has outsold Katy’s, Rihanna’s and Britney’s albums. Just lettin ya’ll know. Sure #1′s are nice but they don’t mean anything if people don’t wanna buy your music, you know the way artists stay afloat. Haha. Bye-bye.

Katy Perry did get more nominations than Gaga this year, but in terms of the VMA’s she did NOT break any record. Katy only has 10 nominations this year, and 17 nominations in total since 2008. Gaga hasa been nominated 26 times in total since 2009, and she still holds the record for the most nominations in a single year (13 in 2010)
And people need to stop whining about Katy breaking Gagas pop singles record. Gaga only released 4 singles from The Fame. However, Gaga still holds the record for having SIX CONSECUTIVE singles go number 1 on pop (i.e including Bad romance, and telephone)

If u guys have to argue atleast make sure ur facts are correct.. And madonna is the artist with the most nominations ever!! The song was vouge. I beleive she was nominated like 17 times. Just saying
